Before Your Visit

We want your visit to Eclipse Eye Care to be as easy and comfortable as possible. Whether you're visiting us for the first time or returning for your next eye exam, here's some helpful information to know before your appointment.

What to Bring

To help your visit go smoothly, please bring:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Your current vision and medical insurance cards
  • Your current glasses, if applicable
  • Your current contact lens information, contact lens boxes, or prescription information if you wear contacts
  • A current list of medications
  • Any relevant eye or medical records you would like our doctor to review

New patients should also allow a few extra minutes before their appointment to complete any necessary paperwork.

What to Expect During Your Eye Exam

A comprehensive eye exam is about more than determining your glasses prescription. Your visit includes an evaluation of your vision as well as the health of your eyes.

Depending on your individual needs and exam findings, your visit may include vision and prescription testing, eye pressure measurement, retinal evaluation, and other testing recommended by your doctor.

Retinal Wellness Imaging

Retinal wellness imaging is a required component of our comprehensive eye examination protocol at Eclipse Eye Care.

This advanced imaging technology provides detailed views of internal structures of the eye that cannot typically be evaluated with the naked eye alone. It provides our doctor with additional information that can help identify subtle changes and signs of eye disease, sometimes before noticeable symptoms or changes in vision occur. These images also provide valuable baseline documentation, allowing us to carefully monitor your eye health for changes over time.

The retinal wellness imaging fee is $35 when not covered by your vision or medical plan.

Insurance benefits vary, so this service may result in an out-of-pocket expense.

Contact Lens Patients

If you currently wear contact lenses, please bring your contact lens boxes, or current contact lens prescription information with you to your appointment.

A contact lens evaluation or fitting is a separate professional service from the comprehensive eye examination and may involve an additional fee depending on the type of lenses and services required.

If you are interested in trying contact lenses for the first time, please let our team know.

Insurance & Payment

Eclipse Eye Care works with a variety of vision and medical insurance plans. Coverage and benefits vary between plans, and certain services may not be covered by your insurance.

Patients are responsible for applicable copays, deductibles, and non-covered services.

If you have questions about your insurance benefits or would like an estimate of your expected out-of-pocket costs, please contact our office before your appointment and our team will be happy to assist you.

Dilation & Additional Testing

Depending on your symptoms, medical history, or findings during your examination, the doctor may recommend dilation or additional diagnostic testing.

If additional testing or follow-up care is recommended, our team will explain the next steps and answer any questions you may have.
